Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement 2026

Direct Staff UK

This statement is made pursuant to Section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes Direct Staff UK’s slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending 2026. This statement has been approved by the Directors of Direct Staff UK.

Direct Staff UK recognises that modern slavery and human trafficking have no place in today’s world. We are committed to continually improving our practices to combat slavery and human trafficking and to encouraging the same high standards throughout our supply chain and business partnerships. We choose to work with organisations that share our values and recognise that all individuals must be treated with dignity, fairness, and respect.

Our Key Commitments

Direct Staff UK is committed to:

  • Eliminating modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and related human rights abuses.

  • Ensuring that our employees and any workers we supply (directly or indirectly) are not subjected to behaviours, coercion, or threats that could amount to modern slavery or exploitation.

  • Working collaboratively with law enforcement agencies and relevant authorities to tackle modern slavery proactively.

  • Providing appropriate training and awareness information to all staff.

Training and Awareness

We recognise that awareness and vigilance are essential in preventing modern slavery. Therefore:

  • Members of our Leadership Team receive detailed training to identify and address risks relating to modern slavery and human trafficking.

  • All staff undertake training that includes guidance on recognising signs of exploitation and understanding wider human rights issues.

  • Additional, enhanced training is provided to designated compliance or safeguarding leads within the business.

  • All employees receive awareness information to ensure they understand how to raise concerns appropriately.

Reporting Concerns

All staff, workers, clients, and other stakeholders are strongly encouraged to report any concerns or suspicions of modern slavery or human trafficking.

Concerns can be raised directly with site managers, senior management, or through our confidential reporting procedures.

All reported concerns are treated seriously and investigated promptly and thoroughly by our Senior Leadership Team. Where issues are identified, we are committed to taking appropriate action, which may include:

  • Working with relevant organisations to improve standards,

  • Working with clients and supply chain partners to strengthen compliance,

  • Referring matters to appropriate law enforcement or regulatory authorities where necessary.

We are committed to ensuring that information about support services and helplines is accessible and visible where appropriate.

Risk Management and Monitoring

Direct Staff UK regularly monitors and assesses potential risks in relation to modern slavery through key performance indicators and compliance checks, including:

  • Worker interviews and welfare checks to identify safeguarding concerns.

  • Payroll monitoring to identify duplicate bank details or addresses.

  • Monitoring training completion rates across the organisation.

In addition, our pre-engagement processes are designed to mitigate risks before workers commence assignments, including:

  • Modern Slavery declarations and questionnaires during registration.

  • Verification of bank details to ensure payments are made to the worker directly.

  • Identity verification processes to prevent impersonation and ensure accurate time and attendance recording.
